Those who answered all of the questions correctly went into the draw for a lucky prize. We had 4 winners: Maria Malizija from University Outpatient clinics, Bimal Kaur from B3c, Lijun Mao from Pathology, and Lucy Keatley from Respiratory.

Parramatta Missions Christmas Party
Storr Liver Centre staff joined Western Sydney Sexual Health, NSW Pathology, Hepatitis NSW celebrated the end of 2019 and Christmas at Parramatta Mission.
This year, in addition to handing out bags of donations for women from Share the Dignity, Storr Liver Centre also held their own donation drive. Donations collected throughout the past few months were used to create men's hygiene bags and handed out to attendees on the day, consisting of basic necessities such as soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, razors, deodorant and sunscreen.
In addition to this, 23 people received screening for Hepatitis, HIV and syphilis.

Christmas Decoration Competition
Westmead Hospital held a Christmas Decoration Competition, with judging held on the 11th of December 2019. Storr Liver Centre entered their Outreach Van in the competition and took out First Place in the Community Spirit.
Storr Liver staff used expired or recycled items from their offices to create DIY Christmas decorations.

Granville: Hello Doctor Refugee
Western Sydney Local District - Storr Liver Centre, Community Hepatology Outreach Team.
The Hello Doctor Refugee Event at Granville TAFE was held on the 13th Wednesday November 2019. The aim of the event was to provide information and support as well as viral hepatitits screening opportunities to international students and refugees who attend Granville TAFE.

Western Sydney Homeless Connect (WSHC)
The Western Sydney Homeless Connect (WSHC) event was held on the 5th August 2019 at Parramatta Town Hall and in the Centenary Square. The aim of the event was to provided information and support from services representing 60 organisations to those in need. The WSHC guests enjoyed a free meal, free haircut, dental or health check-ups, and access to legal and financial aid.
The Liver Wellness Mobile Health Van along with Western Sydney Sexual Health Centre provided liver hepatitis screening, general liver health checks and sexual health screening. A large number of people elected to have their bloods collected and find out their hepatitis status. We distributed a large number of health resources, education and giveaways to those who visited the van. It was a successful integrated health event with members from Hepatitis NSW, Storr Liver Centre, Pathology, Sexual Health, Drug and Alcohol, NSP and HARP team.

Parramatta Mission: World Hepatitis Day
On Friday the 26th of July the Outreach Van made a stop at Parramatta Mission ‘Meals Plus’ as an early celebration of World Hepatitis Day (Sunday the 28th July). The aim was to increase awareness of hepatitis; how to get tested and treated.
The day was a success with colleagues from Sexual Health, Drug and Alcohol, the NSP and HARP all involved. We handed out resources to improve people’s understanding of hepatitis and ran a spinning wheel quiz with lots of giveaways including warm beanies, gloves and blankets. There were even donuts and sugar free treats.
Thanks to kind donations from ‘Share the Dignity’ we were also able to give every woman who attend a bag of daily hygiene essentials.

Outreach Van Launch
Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) has officially launched a mobile van to make hepatitis C testing much easier and faster. The van will offer free blood collection and blood spot testing for hepatitis C by specialist staff. HIV testing will also be offered. No appointment is necessary.

Korean Health Expo
